Position off on 720

I have a 720 with the latest maps (1584), the 920 POI files, and the voice activation on.

Even after a reset with the pin, when coming to a turn, even after I stop it still reads 60 feet for a few seconds, then catches up.

I am going to try the Clear Flash utility once I find it, but failing that, is there anything that can be done? Is it a known issue with these guys? Faulty unit?

Thanks

mine is doing that....the street are about 200 feet behind...though at one point everything was dead on...so not sure what happened

I have read that if you touch the satellites, touch them on the next screen you see, click on 'calibrate' and select to show the third option (seconds, I think), that that method somehow provides a more accurate measurement.

The thread is here somewhere.

If you have the 920's massive POI list enabled so that you can see all of them, don't forget that the TT has to constantly sort through all of them on-the-fly as well to keep them displayed. It's a pretty processor intensive task, and with the much larger count from the 920's file, it could be killing your performance.

Try turning off ALL POI's for a bit in the main driving window and see if your 720 isn't a bit more responsive. If so, be a bit more selective about which POI catagories you enable so your 720 doesn't have quite so much to keep track of while you're on the move.

Great suggestions - I will try them.

I actually have all POI turned off, but maybe the calibrate or flash reset thing will work.
