Phonebook

I updated the software when i first got it, but i read on this forum that the new software update made phones not connect correctly, so that i downgraded the software, I now copy over my phonebook, and it only shows the numbers and not the names, how do i get this changed??

Did you make a backup prior to the update? If so, just copy the contacts.txt file from the backup to the contacts folder on the unit.

If no backup, just edit the text file on the unit.

No i stupidly didnt make a backup of the phonebook, i did think after that i should have, but it was working the other day now when u access the contact file it shows them all as default, is there any way in which i could change this through the tomtom so that i dont need edit them all one by one, Also, i brought a 5year warranty with this, so i could take it back in the hope that the new one works

There isn't a 'mass repair' function in TomTom.

I dont get it thought, it worked before and now when i have tried to put phone numbers on it does not work, surely something is up
