.pf file problem please?

Greetings.
Please forgive if this has been asked before.

Sister has just purchased a Start model 1EX00. Have been to Tomtom.com/home to download the free updates and had downloaded to my laptop.

However, laptop says cannot read files because they are .pf

Have gone to net on sites which say " Software needed to open .pf files" but they seem to be only registry checkers.

Can anyone please advise of a stand alone program which will enable my laptop to read these .pf files?

Welcome to TTF.

I have no clue what .pf files are. Do you have a pc or a Mac?

It may be the .pf files are the form for the little mapshare files and gps files you can download. If you tried for a map download, that comes in a .cab (compressed) format file.

Perhaps the download was corrupt. Are you trying to download using a wireless connection? If so, switch to a computer directly connected and try again using Home.
