This may sound strange, but is there a way to creat a contacts list in a one xl?

Also in trying to do reseach I found some people say that you can down load a audio player and play mp3's and others you cant... which is true?

Thanks

What do you mean by contacts? You can save Favorites, just by location, or you could create your own POI category, and include a phone number with that location. As far as the MP3 player goes, I think only the 720 and 920 do that.

well as fare as contacts , I mean creating an adress book with phone numbers and email addresses

thank you for your responce

No Address book capability.

However, you have a couple options:
1) You could create POIs for friends and family....this lets you select and address and enter a phone number (no email address ability)
2) You could simply create a *.txt file with a list of names, addresses, and email addresses. Put this file in your /text directory and you can view it with the document viewer. This, however, is not an OPERATIONAL option, just a way to view the information and then you'd have to type in the address in the NAVIGATE TO option when you wanted to actually travel to that location.

Waitaminute,,,,
Without loading "console" and PICO text editor, I have not been able to read text files on my ONE XL. I think the text reader works on the 720, but I don't seem to have the magic to make it work on the ONE XL. If you know how to make it work, PLEASE post some info!

The Navcore7 software has a built-in text reader (that is why you can pull up documents for First Aid, etc).

TomTom in their infinite wisdom did NOT provide the icon in the default menu.

However, if you are using a custom menu, you can add the following line to your TomTom.mnu file (on a page that has an open slot) to get the document reader icon:
TASK_DOC_BROWSER

Any .html or .txt file that you place in your /text folder on the TomTom will show up under the Doc browser

Haven't the unit here to play with but will invoking the icon 'document reader' on the 720 see and read a .txt file?

Yup, that actually is the icon I am having him add to the XL menu (doesn't exist on my ONE LE, either so I made a custom menu for this icon). Just need to have those files in the /text folder.

Mobilnova.com, Its not free tho. 30 Euros is the asking price.

In their great genius they could not add a freakin icon to read text files on an XL!! aaaaah

I cannot find any *.mnu file on my XL. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to read text files? The MobilNova Media centre seems to work OK and plays vids and mp3's, but still need to pay 30 euros to use it.

I am sure it cant be that hard?

Any help vastly appreciated
