HELLO,

recently got the One XL TTS. I live in Montreal, Quebec and was trying to configure my unit in French as Susan can not pronounce the french street names. I was shock to see that teh entire French folder was not there. I am missing the French Loquendo files. After few research on the web I was able to locate some of the files but I'm still missing at least the *.atm and *.lex french files. I went to the TomTom web site to no avail.

Does anyone know how I can get these files.

(BTW after downloading few of these files, Susan got somehow corrupted. So I beleive I need an entire load of the Loquendo, lib and voices folder.

Thanks,

Serge

Serge, I know the text to speech voice are placed with the new HOME 2. Just go to add voices, maps etc and scroll to the 3rd page I believe. You should see the computer voices option there.

Many thanks

Thanks Pedro2NR,

for some reasons I could not previously access that page. I re-installed the TomTom Home and bingo here it was. I was a bit surprised to see that I had to delete the English computer voice to make room for the French one. Anyhow, all is now good.

Salut Serge.

I just got that fix this morning.
My S was not telling street names. You can go there.

The thing is to choose a computerised voice. There is one in french too.

Loquendo offers two Canadian French computer voices since July 2007 (Charlotte and Olivier). I have contacted Tomtom about making them available and they said they would evaluate it. I guess if more people ask Tomtom for them, it might make a difference...

Yes, computer voices or synthetic expressive voices as Loquendo puts it that can pronounce road names etc. I even found a sample of each voice on the Loquendo web site. Now, if Tomtom could offer them for download... I guess they need to feel some pressure from their tt French Canadian users...
