One XL S GPS Problems

Okay. So I stopped getting GPS QuickFixes periodically, and I'd do the whole deletion of the ephem/ephemeris folder contents and it would USUALLY come back and be fine. This time however, I accidentally deleted the ENTIRE ephemeris folder and it won't rewrite, so the installations for the GPS QuickFix cannot be stored before they get installed on the device. Ephem is still available on the device, but I do not know how to recover the ephemeris folder on the computer. Would uninstalling and reinstalling TTH do the trick?

But wait, there's more!

Additionally, I'm getting bombed with the "Poor GPS reception" message in the bottom right corner, even when it sits in the window aimed towards the sky now. Never had a problem before, even without GPS QuickFix for awhile.

I tore the forums apart looking for a similar case and didn't find one, so here I am.

Any solutions?

two questions first do you have any backup on your computer Secondly, next time you are not getting reception go to the middle of your driveway and wait until you get a satilite fix. Can take a few minuits until it aqires a fix. If you still are having trouble call phone support at 1-866 tomtom.

Use Explorer to create the ephemeris folder here:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\ephemeris

I have one physical backup I created with Windows Explorer on my computer still. I have not tried the driveway trick yet. I will give that a try and see if I get a lock. Makes sense now that I think of it...

I tried this once already and still got no GPS QuickFix update in the new folder.


UPDATE:
Managed to get a GPS QuickFix update finally, but it's still not getting a GPS lock no matter where I stand, indoors, outdoors with a clear, unobstructed view of the sky, or in the car. I've reset factory defaults, did a soft reset, and let it sit for nearly an hour to attempt to get a lock to no avail. My last resort may be calling TomTom Support...anyone have any other ideas to possibly remedy this?

Additionally, the model is not a One XL S, it's a XL 340S w/ IQ Routes...minor error on my behalf.

UPDATE 2:
Finally got it fixed. I uninstalled the TomTom Application, then let it update and restart the device, then it called for ANOTHER update to the Application and started working fine once again. Silly how these things randomly corrupt themselves. Thank you for all the views and assistance.
