One XL-S and text to speech?

I looked around a bit but didn't find much so here goes.


Anyone want to help me understand this text to speech function? From what I understood is that you could put text and html files in the TT and it would read them for you. I was looking in to it a bit last night but didn't find much on it. I did find the media and photo thing to upload from TT home to the TT and added a couple texts and an html into D:/text but I can't figure out how to bring them up on the TT. It says to go to the prefences/photos and media or something (don't remember the exact path) but for me it's not there.


Any help? Or is this just something I'm dreaming?

I'm a new owner myself, but from what I've gathered I don't think the XL-S
supports the viewing of photo and documents.
It says this function is not supported by all TT's in the help section.
Also in TT Home2 it says GO devices support this and an XLS is not a "GO" device. (ex. GO-720)

The Text to Speech function allows the spoken directions to say
turn left on "street name" instead of just saying turn left, IF you have selected
a computer voice instead of just a "recorded" voice.

There is a program for viewing video and listening to MP3 that's a 3rd party app.

I realize the part about not being able to see photo or play mp3s, but I thought I read somewhere that it will read text to you like a story or a news article. It?s not that important to me, I just thought it was suppose to do it.
