Hi I received Tom Tom One XL for christmas but it seems the maps are outdated. How do I update these? 7'11 is not even on the map near my house and its been there afew years! Do I have to buy new maps?? I thought the updates for maps was free but from what I am reading I may be wrong? I am in oklahoma if it matters

Install the Home program, connect your TomTom and use Home to upgrade your map. You may qualify for a free upgrade.

How do you know it's outdated? You didn't give us the version number. The most recent map is v7.10.

My XL (Which I got for Xmas) Map is 675.1409. When I check LMG from Home, it says I have the current map. Why wouldn't I get 7.10 if I've had it for less than 30 days?

Connect your tomtom to your computer. Using tomtom home, select current map update from the top menu. Latest version is V710.1575 for the XL. You have 30 days from purchase for free update.

thanks I did the free update but its still not showing things that have been in the area for years and years. when I search for 7'11 it shows NONE! ( lol there is like 100 in the city) I have spelled it out and tried to search in everyway I know how. When I search for say cici pizza it shows like only 5 when there is way more in the area.

You may need to go to Change Preferences and Enable/Disable POI's. If you are not seeing the POIs you expect, make sure that they are enabled by category. Hope this helps.:D

Most likely you are not finding the 7-11 because it's not on the maps. Tomtom's POI database is notoriously poor. Even many of those that are actually on the map are not exactly where the tomtom says they are.

a common complaint among users unfortunately.

that said you can make your own or download many from the net. in fact many from this forum.
