I bought this factory refurbished three months ago and I'm just getting to try it before our trip this weekend. I start the unit and it picks up my location and shows 13 satellites. I press "Navigate To" and enter the information and as soon as I press done, when it looks like its downloading the information it reboots itself. After it reboots the agreement screen comes up and I press "Agree" and it starts all over again saying that I lost signal. I've reset and nothing seems to work. Also, before using this unit am I suppose to download anything? The insturctions are very vague.

Although I can't help you with your particular problem, if you do a search for "reboot" you'll be guaranteed to find a ton of information on here.

Good luck!

Can you try navigating to a different destination as the crash could be due to a map error, quite rare but I have seen this sort of thig reported before, also how far away is the destination, I have seen very long trips planned using shortest route crash devices as they run out of available memory, shortest route is a useless waste of time for most true occasions you need to use a Nav unit. Set it to fastest or even limitted speed or avoid motorways.
You shouldn't need to download anything at all the device should work straight out of the box, I would seriously suggest you make a full copy of all the files and folders on the device to your computer using Windows Explorer before doing anything else with it - Mike
