Hello,
I'm new on this forum. I am looking to purchase my first GPS unit. I have narrowed it down to the One 3rd Ed. and the One XL and i have 2 questions.

1. I am going to be getting Amazon.com gift cards for christmas and was hoping to purchase on there. I noticed they have them marked down pretty far on there ($149 and $249). Does anyone know if those type of prices might still be around after christmas so i could take advantage of my gift cards?

2. The One 3rd Ed. is more in my price range but i'm concerned about the no SD card slot option. Ive read a couple reviews saying that there isnt much space left on the 1gb built in memory when you buy it for add ons. Does this mean i will run into issues with map share updates, other updates, etc? i'd like to just stick with that unit but is it really that limiting?

thanks for the help!

If you feel the ONE 3red Edition is in your price range and you really like the SD slot, I would highly recommend the TomTom ONE LE that Best Buy sells for around $150 right now. You won't be disappointed.....

Then feel free to browse my customizations page if you get motivated ;) :

thanks for the reply. i actually wanst aware of the LE edition. Again though, the only reason its in my price range is because of amazon.com gift cards i'm going to get for xmas so i'm really hoping that $150-$175 price range is still around after xmas on amazon. i have a bad feeling they wont last though.
is there anything that the 3rd edition has that the LE doesnt?
i'm still keeping Garmin as an option as well. so far leaning towards TomTom

Go for the LE. The 3rd Edition is 'crippled'. For the same price, it's a no brainer.

I believe that you can use Mapshare for 1 year. Then the updates stop, as they try to persuade you to purchase a new map. Of course, the new map will contain all of the corrections for the previous map. They will then repeat the cycle of owners of the new map submitting corrections (for one more year).

ahh so you buy a new map then you get another year of map share free then?
ok what about the le vs. the garmin 250? i'm reading mixed reviews between the 2 of them now. tough call
