One 125 Question

Hi everyone as I have already said this gps is all new to me. Well yesterday was the first day i put my TT in my vehicle and all I can say is WOW. How did I manage to get anywhere without one long before this. Here is my question, the street I live on I cant find it on my TT, its a new street about 3 years old now. I have went to google and put it in there and tried to put it in my TT. I was hoping to have been able to download my street from updates but then again I dont know hardly what I am doing with it.
Does anyone know how I can get my street on it, when I am home it shows on the screen that my van is setting on the street beside mine and it doesn't see my street at all.
Thanks everyone I know I am ignorant haha but any help will be appreciated.

Sorry, but we can't add streets through 'map share'. We can only change directions (one way / two way), add or remove roadblocks, and move POIs. The only way to get a new street added is through a map update from TomTom.

You have 30 days to get a free map update from tomtom. Did you upgrade to the latest version (v815)? It may have your street.

What street is it? We can check?

Hi there my street is called Volkswagen Ln, in Martinsburg, WV 25401 and I dont know how to check to see if I have the latest version of maps. I called Tom Toms 800 number and he said I had it but I dont knw what I have.

Press the satellite bars on your unit. The next screen shows the FIRMWARE version installed. Now, tap the version number and the next screen shows the map installed and version number

Hello again I just truned it on and I think I found it it says Version 8.014.

To check your map version:

• Tap in the satellite or time display area.
• Then tap on the version number (this is the software vers)
• You should see the Map number listed just above the language.

That will be the firmware, not the map. The map should show something like 8.05, 8.10 or 8.15

It's not in map v8.15 (tomtom's latest), nor in google maps, nor teleatlas.

Yahoo maps (powered by Navteq, the competing map vendor) shows "Volkeswagon Rd" parallel to Edsel Ave. If this is what you're referring to, then it's definitely missing from tomtom/teleatlas.

You can report it to tomtom, google, and teleatlas which would give you the best chance of it being mapped.

Well I called TomTom lastnight and they wanted my proof of purchase receipt saying I got my new TT less than 30 days ago. Well i found it and I have only had it for 13 days so they sent me a web address of where I could send them a picture of the receipt. Sure enough they told me to wait for 2 hours and to plug my TT up to my computer and I would get the latest map. 2 minutes before the 2 hours were up I got a email from TT saying it was ready. I hooked it up and now have the latest mapping. Oh life is so good today.
