TomTom Model(s)
550
I was having a clearout and I didn't realise I had so many old tomtoms that I hadn't used for years.

There are the tomtoms I have:

XL Model 4ET03
GO 300
GO 520

Can any of these be updated and still be used with the latest maps? If not what can they be used for or best just to junk them?

If the maps can't be updated then can they be updated just for UK speed cameras?

Thanks

How old is your GO 520? Unfortunately, they re-used that model number, so one has to ask.
If the serial # starts with M, that's 2007-2008, like the others, it's past the point where you can update maps. None have enough memory.
If the serial # starts with a Z, that's more recent and can be updated.

The 3 models have been reported at the end of their life by Tomtom so it is no longer possible to update Tomtom's maps or radars.

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately it has an "M" serial number.

So it's junk? It has an SD card slot can that be used to give more memory for maps or it doesn't have enough internal memory for processing?

Not all roads change if GPS works, you can still use them for short trips.

The primary issue is that the device won't handle more than a 2GB SD card, and that's still not big enough. My old 720 was permanently retired for the same reason.

Stick one on the dash and see if you can use it successfully. Not knowing exactly where you live or how much maps have needed change in your area, it's impossible to say if it has any value at this point in time.
