Old Go 520 Can't connect to update it

GO 520, Start 20
I know this may have been asked before but I cannot find my specific issue.
We have an old Go 520 which has lived in my husbands car for years (and does not get regularly updated), with the GPS rollover it has stopped working and when I have gone to connect it to the PC the PC has not got it registered. When I try to register it on my account (I have a Start 20 already set up) it will only give me the option to add a New Go 520 with wi-fi.

I am using Windows 10 / firefox
I have downloaded tomtom home, have accessed my account now not sure what to do as unable to add the sat nav to the list
I can understand basic instructions but I am not an amateur tech person!
 
When you connect the 520 to Home, is there a login id at the top of the screen? Did your husband ever use Home for any updates? If so, use his login information. Don't use the same email address used for the Start 20 on MyDriveConnect.

Hi, unfortunately he didn't (I do all the technical stuff) I did wonder if I had set it up with his and tried to sign in and it told me that his email address did not exist on the system.
