Occasional loss of pictue

I occasionally lose the screen display on my TomTom One 3rd edition although the sound remains. I can get the picture back by tapping the screen but it disappears again after a short while. Any solutions?

Could be any number of things ... the silicon that drives the display, the cable between motherboard and display, or display.

One thing I'd check first is the quality of the connection between the motherboard and the flex cable.
