Hi all,

New to this forum, just got my first One 140IQ.
Excellent device, as a Sales Rep I don't know how I got to appointments in time without it!!

One problem I have found, and don't know if other NZ user have noticed, or have solution??

When using Text-to-speech feature on our motorways, the first past of the name is garbled.

Example - SH1 Southern Motorway comes through as SSSHHRE 1 Southern Motorway
I have tried renaming as Southern Motorway SH1, but still reads the same way.

Does anyone know who I need to contact to get this feature fixed??

It's not a big problem, but when your on the motorway as much as me, it does start to get annoying...

Thanks for your help.

Do all the computer voices pronounce it the same way? How about recorded voices.

Having been to NZ a couple of times, I'm surprised that name is getting mangled and not a bunch of others you have there. :)

Look for a file called something like this: roadnrANZ.EnglishNZ6.8.lex in the Loquendo (or it may be Vocalizer) folder for the computer name you use and see if you can find an issue there that you can correct. It is a text file.

Plural

does anyone have the trouble when going to some exit that is like 34 S or south to say 34ss like a plural. it happens constantly on long Island roads.

Dhn - it happens with all the computer voices, doesn't happen on recorded but they don't say the road name anyway...

I have had a look and couldn't find the file you suggested.

problem with garbled NZ text to speach

This was a problem about 6 or so months ago with many units. I even sent mine in to the reseller who sent it back to TT. It turns out it was a bug in the devices Rom that was an update TT pushed down via TT Home. and they rolled it back to an earlier rom version. Although UR running 835.1 it just might be that your model does not like this version while others like mine seem ok with it. S ach won is the norm.
A good laugh is the drury turnoff heading south.

Bugger,

Does that mean I'm stuck with "continue along Ss arch won Southern Motorway"...

There must be someone at TT we can get in contact to to correct this.
I brought a TT over a Navman because it is the market leader worldwide, didn't think it would have silly little problems like this.

fixed.... sort of.

I re-named as "Southern Motorway". and it reads fine now.
The only problem now, is going through and renaming every motorway in NZ!!
Oh and every motorway exit.....

this could take a while.
