I hooked my GO510 up to Home and downloaded a few small items and now it wants me to enter an activation code for this unit which I've been using for MONTHS!!!

I entered the product code but now it's asking me for the device code???? Where the hell do I find that? What I had thought it wanted didn't work!!!

After much hooking up and unhooking and re-setting and all kinds of maneuvers I was able to finally locate the info that I needed but after re-starting the GO510 for the umpteenth time it didn't ask me for an stinkin' activation code!!!! GRRRR!!!

At least I got it working properly again!

The Clear Flash tool may fix that exact problem.

Question
Why are my settings not saved when I turn my GO 910/510 on and off?
Answer
If you are having one of the problems described below, it could be that there are too many files in the flash memory on your device:

You are unable to activate the map on your GO 910/510 even though you have a valid product code. You have to enter the passkey every time you connect your GO 910/510 with your mobile phone.
Your settings are not saved when you turn your GO 910/510 on and off.

I know it refers to the product, not device code. However... the link (hopefully, you'll not need it anymore but ....)

I did the Clear Flash Tool thing and it didn't work but after playing around with the 510 and the HOME app (I'm on an Intel Mac....if that makes any difference) I finally got it squared away.

Using TT tomorrow for a school trip (I drive a school bus) and if I have any problems I will be back here tomorrow night.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Lemme guess...do you drive a bus in New Jersey? :D
