TomTom Model(s)
via 1535 tm
Ok well my tomtom 1535tm did it again

it was saying voice command is not available in your country

so what I did was a complete reset by following the instructions below

then when I booted the TomTom back up everything works now except voice command

when you say okay Tom Tom it doesn't do anything

It lights up when you tap the voice command icon on the screen and says it can do many commands and wait for the beep and speak a command

but then when you do it doesn't understand anything you say.

any idea why and how to fix it I've tried everything

Just to be sure -- you are saying "Hello TomTom", not "OK TomTom" - correct?
I'm pretty sure that's the default.

If I push the voice activation icon on the screen it lights up and tells me that it can do several commands

please wait for a beep and then say something and I say drive to the nearest Starbucks it says something silly like turn Volus control off

so it's not working and it's really frustrating

If I say okay Tom Tom or hello Tom Tom it doesn't say anything like

say a command like it used to do

it just doesn't do anything now

but the software update was successful

I watched it go through the motions and it said successful and I could unplug the TomTom I did and then it rebooted no problem everything else works but the voice command

My bad on the earlier comment. Back then, it was "Hey TomTom".

If Language = English US and Voice = Samantha and Volume <> 0, I have no idea why voice control is failing like that.
There's nothing in Settings / Voice Control that inhibits voice control except for the "Hey TomTom" part.

Now that you have done the "Restore", have you followed up by using Settings / Reset factory settings ?

One last item, now that you've been through the "Restore" process:

Under Settings / Me and my device / About my device

Does it show App 12.071..... ?
Does it show OS 1344689 ?

yes, I have done just what you said >>>
using Settings / Reset factory settings ?

Ok, so now when I push the mic icon on the screen it gives me all the things I can say IT DID NOT do that before
this is after 6 reboots

BUT hey tomtom or hi tomtom ok tomtom and even you stink tomtom lol does NOT turn on voice command

since I did the "'reset"" nothing with voice command works UNLESS I tap the microphone icon and even that took several attempts

that isnt real good because you still have to take your hands off the stering wheel

where did hey tomtom go to kick start voice control??

Make sure it's enabled in Settings / Voice Control after the factory reset.

It is I even turned it off and on several times hoping it was just stuck

Yes. My tomtom is fully updated. I restarted to the factory settings few times. Voice activation is on. Voice speech also option also is on. When I want to test Voice control than Voice bar is not moving. Nothing happens.
