noob question

i have a qestion in regards to my tomtom one first off i have used the search feature! with some results and other results seem to just be links to links that being said, what is the best way to be sure that my tomtom is uptodate...tomtom home says it is but im not sure. also in regards to maps is there a way to be sure my maps are uptodate, if not are maps strictly a purchase item or can it be done through a download?

At each login, TomTom Home updates its inventory of your device...then offers system updates, QuickFix data and map corrections. Depending on what model device you have, and what operating system version is in place, you will be offered updates that are specific to your market/region.

Regarding maps...

After your initial device activation and guaranteed (one time!) "most current map" download, you will be on your own to decide if you need or want to purchase a new version map in the future.

There are occasions when a map version is offered in Europe, but not in North America. For instance, the full 675 (1.4GB) North America map is/was ONLY available in Europe. Why? Only TomTom knows. It could be purchased by logging onto the TomTom UK site...exclusively.

Interestingly, TomTom has never mentioned that the UK map purchase option was available to its North American customers.
