I have entered the password for my network and it is recorded as saved on the device, but the screen changes to show "authentication problem". Also the device shows "Out of range saved networks" which cannot be as I put it next to the LiveBox router. Advice please. I am happy to speak to someone on the phone so please give me a UK phone number for me to call if this is possible. Thanks.

Try a drum reset
Since the covid there is no longer a telephone line to Tomtom customer service

Thank you. I did a reset, but same problem. Any other ideas? I am rather disappointed in this device, it has some strange navigational ideas and on occasions reverses the direction of travel. My old one was/is perfect but so full that I cannot update it, that is why I bought this one. I look forward to your next attempt to solve this problem. Kindest regards, Alan Hannah

Before we start fiddling around with 'channels' on your WiFi host, let's try to do the easy thing:

1) Even if the wrong password is given, the WiFi host will initially show up as "Saved" in the list of hosts on your TomTom, even though it cannot connect. It will then periodically check to see if it can connect, and eventually, it will respond with "Authentication problem" by the name of the host instead of "Saved".

2) If your device isn't close enough to anything to which it thinks it can connect, then it will show "Out of range of saved networks".

So the probable issue is one of coming up with a password that your WiFi host likes.

1) On your TomTom, select the name of the host to which you wish to connect

2) Click on "Modify"

3) Click on "Forget"

4) Click on the name of the host to which you wish to connect

5) CAREFULLY type in the password again, and "Connect", to see if you can get a "Connected" next to the host name.

Thank you for your good advice. I have connected, created the account, and am updating. I am most grateful to you.

Glad to have helped.
It's easy to mis-type a password, especially on a tiny "keyboard" on a phone or GPS!
