no voice

Help been awhile since I've been here. I updated my 720 to Ver 7.481 and now I have no voice instructions, no turns,streets, or even route cleared. I have reset it a few times already. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

That version is still a year old, more or less. What map version is sinstalled? The latest application is 8.351 and the latest map is 8.30

Different voice problem

I just updated my 720 to all the latest applications and maps, and now my voice doesn't work at all. When I( do the show contents of my device when hooked up to the Home program, it tells me teh Susan voice acn not be used with the current TomTom application on my device.

Anyone seen that issue before?

I was just having this issue a few days ago. What you'll want to do is delete the voices off of your PC, and off of your TomTom. On the root of your TomTom you should see a folder labeled "LoquendoTTS" and when you see it, go ahead and delete it. FULLY close Home (from the taskbar as well) then re-open the program and go and redownload/install the new voices. It's important that you delete the ones from your PC as well before re-downloading.

Thanks for this - seems to be working now. Other oddities included having one version of the application on my memory card, the other on the device. Seem to have fixed that now, too.

I see you are fairly new here, and note that you have an SD card in your device. How your TomTom behaves when duplicate information exists between the card and internal memory will vary based upon the model TT you have, but the results can be quite unexpected. As an example, since you had the system files on both, your GO720 model will preferentially boot from the system files on the SD card. This can make for some interesting system configurations, but is usually done by accident and can drive the unaware user a bit nuts.

On the other hand, some user files on your model are "cumulative" in that the TomTom will combine the contents of identically named folders from both internal memory and the SD card. That can be useful if you wish you had a bit more memory on one side or the other.
