No Voice

Hi, I have the 720 and now find that the standard voices will not work. However the John Cleese voice that I downloaded will still work.
If I change the volume setting and test it nothing happens.
While driving there is no voice.
I do get voice when books are used but the Tim and Jane voices are a no go.
I re installed the standard voices but still no go. They are highlighted if you view them, as if they are installed.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Have you tried resetting the device with a paperclip? the reset hole is on the base of the unit, and doing this you will not lose any data or settings - Mike

Yes I have tried that twice. When I then replace it in the cradle it does an update and still will not work. I have also found my "Home" will not work either. It is not highlighted and it tells me I cannot use this feature.
Very frustrating,I have just been on holiday in Brisbane and had to rely on looking at the screen to navigate.

Have you an Explorer backup? If so, delete the loose files in the root of the unit, NO folders or their contents and recopy the loose files from the backup.

If no backup, try uninstalling and reinstalling the application.

I removed the memory card with my music on.
I then put it back on the cradle where it updated again and now everything works.
In future I shale only use the cradle when there is no card in place.
