Go 6000
Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased a Go 6000 and have noticed especially after quite a big update, that I don't get a spoken instruction of the directions. I get the route but it means of course that I ave to keep an eye on the satnav, not a good idea.

The only words mentioned is at the start where I am informed at what time I will reach my destination.

I've checked my setting and the voice is enabled etc.

Any ideas please

Ronnie from England.

Are you sure the mouth symbol to the right of the volume bar is not muted (has a line through it)? How about the volume icon to the left of the bar?

You could try a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds. See if that helps. If not, best you call support:

Also, make sure your battery is fully charged (at least a couple of hours connected to the computer or a mains charger. Device can be off).

Hi DHN,

Gosh! I feel so stupid. I thought those symbols were to change the day and night time settings.
I thought it was the volume symbol on the left that counted. I don't know how it got turned off,
but thanks to you, I have my friend back in the car with me.
Many thanks also for supplying my local contact details. Very much appreciated.

The nasty bit is that if you tap the Menu button twice, when nothing seems to be happening, the process actually started but the display is delayed. In that case, the second tap is actually initialising the mute function.
Don't feel stupid, it's not your fault that there is more latency in the newer devices.
