No U-TURN in GO 720

I recently purchased GO 720 and when I was doing the on-road test, i found that it never asked me to take the U-TURN rather it put me on a round about street path. One example, there was an obvious U-turn just infront of my eyes, but it asked me to take right-then left-then left and then left to merge on to the opposite traffic.

I know most of Go 720 owners facing this issue. However did any one report this issue to TOM TOM or anybody has any better answer for this problem.

Your answer will be appreciated.

Hi Timmon,
I do not think if such option exist in GO 720. I have not seen it so far in GO 720. I am just new to GO 720, so I might not know. Do you know if there any such option exist?
Thanks
Prakash

I have latest firmare, maps, and voice activation going and my TT720 recommends U-turns where it is legal to do so. If I want to reverse my direction it will diirect me to use the U-turn if it comes up before an intersection.

My TT720 also states "Turn around where possible" and shows a U-Turn on the screen.

Generally TomToms prefer not to U-turn , that's what I like.
If you like to U-turn then buy a Magellan. I don't have one but I read posts where people complain that the Magellan like too much U-turn.

Mine will only tell me to take a u-turn if there is no other path. Otherwise, it recalculates the new route.

Coming from Garmin, i noticed this problem as soon as I got my 720 and actually had a whole thread about this. If you choose shortest distance, it will make a U turn for your destination, but that mode makes other navigation almost uselss.

Here is the thread https://www.tomtomforums.com/showthread.php?t=3160
