No Mapshare updates in a long time

I have a GO730 with App 8.010 and Map 810 and TT Home 2.4.0.104.

And now that I think about it I dont think I have been offered any map share updates in several weeks .

Does that make sense?

I get them almost every day. You should be running HOME 2.5.2.60. Open up your HOME and go to Help and click on "check for HOME update".

Yes I did know there was a HOME update but had chosen not to install it. Does one need to have the latest HOME to get Mapshare updates??

The 2.5 has been updated 3 times since introduction.

I would suspect you need it.

I had this same issue a while back, same with QuickGPSFixes. You will have to go to your TomTom folder in your documents folder on your PC and delete the folder that contains the mapshare information, then you will hit "update my go" again in Home, and mapshare updates will appear. I don't remember the folder name exactly, but I'll look for you right now. I'll post back in a few minutes.

Edit: The folder is named "MapShareDownloadCache" and you may have to search for it on your PC. Delete that folder, restart Home, update, then you're good to go.

Edit again: Forgot to mention that this folder wasn't located in the normal spot as all my other locally downloaded TomTom Home files. I found that folder in
C:\Users\(My username)\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME

Mine looks like that because I'm using Vista, but you might find the folder in either app data or application data location inside of a folder called "profiles"

When you search your PC, make sure you're searching ALL locations including hidden, system, non-indexed files.

Search for the folder named "MapShareDownloadCache" and DELETE it once you find it. Let me know how it goes.
