No Maps Found

I went to update my device and it now says no maps found. If I go to the computer and try to restore it tells me my file is empty. How can I get my map back without having to purchase a new file.

I do have a file on my computer that it labeled - 9.430.2-2008.le.CAB-navcore-LE.cab

That is an application file, not a map folder.

If the map that is gone missing was an update of the original on the device, it should be found here in compressed format:

C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\maps\

and you can install it manually. See here:

Also, connect your device to Home, manage my device, items on unit, maps. Does it show anything? How about Items on computer, maps?

If I go to home, manage, items on unit, the only thing there is 2 voices. There are a few itmes on computer, however no maps. The folder you are referencing above does not exist at all on my computer. This is the same computer that I have been using for the last year and the TT is only that old.

Since the folder does not exist that dhn mentions (My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\maps), I can only assume you did not take advantage of the Latest Map Guarantee when you first fired up your new TomTom. True?

Have you ever backed up your unit? I noted that you said "and try to restore", but in order to 'restore', there must first have been a backup.

Have a look in this folder and tell us what you find, if anything:
My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Backup\GO

That last folder name (GO) will likely be different for your unit. What we are looking for is a folder below that called Backup01 that actually has some content. If you physically locate that folder, there's a good chance that your maps are safely tucked there. Again, this all assumes you performed a Home backup at some point in the past.

I had backed it up and did take advantage of the update when purchased. However, that file was completely empty. Thanks to all for their help though. You guys have a wonderful evening.
