No Maps Found???????

My Tomtom is ..Tomtom live 1000....I was connected to my computer and was downloading an update when the eletric went, when it came back on I had this message.......NO MAPS FOUND??? how can I rectify this? I would appriciate an idiots guid to solving this problem. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TTF.

I also responded in the Discussion forum but try this.....

Clear the cache in your desktop TomTom icon's Settings option.

Also reset your unit by holding the power button about 10 seconds till you hear the drum roll sound.

Then, connect to the computer and see if you're offered the map again.

I tried that no good it just keeps saying NO Maps Found, where would and how do I open the tomtoms setting option?

It's not the settings menu on the TomTom itself.....

It's the one on the "MyTomTom" application on the PC.

Run MyTomTom (if it isn't already set to run automatically on startup)
Click on the MyTT icon in the task bar (next to the PC clock) and select "Settings".
Select the "Cache" tab and click on "Empty the cache" then "Save settings".
