No maps found

hello i have recently downloaded and installed tomtom north america maps ona seperate sd card, in tomtom home it says its activated and on device but when i switch tomtom on it says no maps found, do i need to be in america for it to work as im in Uk at the mo.

What model unit do you have? Is your card a sdhc card? If so, do you see a North_America folder on it?
