no maps and no memory to install

I can't install a map on my 330 XL. Home says there is not enough room but I have removed EVERYTHING from the TomTom! What's up. I have over 4 hours trying to get a map back on this unit.

When I first plugged it in, I accidentally disconnected from home before some update had finished. Of course a progress bar would have been helpful for the end user to let them where in the updating process the program was. But that doesn't exist.

First I had a flashing white X. Then after 2 hours, I got that off. Now I can't get the map on it. And no, I don't have a back-up since I didn't have time to make one.

Home says I have the stuff on my computer...how do I get that into the TomTom. The stuff "on my computer" says it takes 924 MB, the unit has 978. What's going on?!?

I there a way to erase the TomTom and start over? FYI to get the map I used map update and I am on a mac.

The Tomtom drive is likely corrupt from unplugging it.

Format the tomtom per these instructions, then unplug it until you see the red X, then plug it back in and HOME should update everything again.

Install the application only until it "update my XL" says no new application is available.

Then install the map.

Lastly, install everything else (voices, mapshare, quickgpsfix)
