No Device connected

Just recently I attached my tom tom 1 to my computer to show no device connected, My tom tom is showing a red cross when started but immediatly returns to start up screen, How can I get my device recognised

Try resetting the unit by holding the power button about 10 secondstill you hear the drum sounds (unless your unit has a dedicated reset hole).
