I am hooking up my iphone to my TomTom 750 using a cassette tape and a small jack plug in order to play the phone through the cars speakers as the normall reception is not good. My problem is I cant find a small juck plug line out on my mounting or TomTom device to hook up. Can anyone help?

You would need a different "Accessory Mount" for your x50 that is equipped with the 1/8" jack socket as per this:

These are difficult to obtain in the USA, but before you go too far even with the 750 connected to the stereo via the line out socket any phone conversations will go via the speaker inside the TomTom, it isn't possible to route the phone handsfree via the TomTom and then to the car speakers. - Mike

Mike Hi,
Many thanks for the reply. can you suggest anyway to improve the TT speaker as it is almost unusable in the hands free mode?

I use something called "iO-Play" for routing the phone calls through the car speakers, it can also connect to the TomTom using Bluetooth so the nav instructions also go via the car speakers, this is all done without wires resulting in a very neat installation - Mike

Sounds like the best option for me. In fact I have been looking through and may upgrade to a Halfords fitted kit!

Shop around and you will find the iO kit for under ?80 which makes the Halfords purchase & Fit rather costly at ?150, if your car stereo has ISO connectors on the rear its very easy to install, if its not got ISO connectors then you will need some SOT addaptor cables - Mike
