No activation codes work for Europe

Hi looking for some help please. We have a tomtom that has Western Europe and N.American maps on it which we bought second-hand. We activated the N.American maps fine, but no matter what we try, we cannot activate the European maps. We tried the one from the TTCode website, and we have also tried others that we have found online, but no matter what we do we get a message that it is the wrong activation code.

This is driving us crazy - we've been trying to resolve it for a week. :confused:

Can anybody pls help?

Thank you
Caroline

Normally, TomTom maps no longer require activation to make them work. What model tomtom and what maps and versions do you have?

Tap the satellite bars to seee the application version (what is that one as well?) Then tap the version number to show the maps and versions installed.

Also, try the Clear Flash tool found at tomtom.com/6211. Download and run it 3 times.

Hi thanks for your quick reply. Ran the flash tool last week as we had system error problems, and that is now okay.

The application version is 7.903. Map version 6.50. Tomtom go910

Thanks
Caroline

I think the N.American map just worked without activation - can't remember. The European maps are on there because we did a back up and te europe folder is almost 2gb.

Use Explorer to look at the contents of the Western_Europe folder on the 910.

There should be a file with an extension of .pna. Open with notepad and that will tell you what version the map is.

Also, look to see if there is a file with an extension of .meta.dct. in the specific map folder. Without it, your map won't work.

Hi
Thanks for this. When I open the .pna folder with Notepad it reads:-

ID=Western_and_Central_Europe.pna
83584983
675
build=1409
id=79927

I can't see a .meta.dct file. There are two .dct files but not meta.dct - why would this be missing, and is there a way I can get it?

Thanks very much
Caroline

There are reasons why a map folder won't contain that file.......including a faulty install in Home from an upgraded map, but that doesn't appear to be the case with you.

If you connect to Home, Manage my device, items on device, how many maps does it show?
