Hello, I just joined your forum. I have had my TomTom XL 325 since Christmas and have found the information on this forum invaluable.
Which brings me to why I joined... to ask a question I haven't been able to find already posted. Maybe I have not looked in the correct place. If so, please forgive me.
My question is this; Is there a way to recover your "Favorites", from a backup, if they have been lost? I ask because yesterday I updated to the latest map (845), I used TomTom Home, it downloaded and installed the new map, but after disconnecting and restarting my TomTom all my favorites were no longer programmed.
Thanks to reading this forum I did make an Explorer backup of my GPS before updating, but as I look at the file structure I am not sure where to look for the favorites or if they can be restored.
That makes me think of another question as well.... I have seen how you can install a new map without using "Home", but I couldn't find anything about how you would download the map without having "Home" trying to automatically install it once it was downloaded. I ask because I have updated my map twice now and both time using Home I got errors and one time my GPS wouldn't function. I had to spend a little time on the phone with support to get it working again.
Sorry to ask two questions, and for the length of this first posting... Hopefully I will do better in the future.
