Newbie question

I've just ordered the TT1 3rd edition. I got it for $130. As an entry level device, the reviews suggest that it's a decent piece of kit. With only a two hour battery life, I'm guessing that most users hook it up to the car's power outlet. If the Tom Tom is switched off, does it continue to draw power from the power outlet and risk diminishing the car's battery if left unattended for a long period of time?

Some vehicles do not supply power to the power outlet when the ignition is off...others do.

The TomTom power supply is energized when power is provided to the outlet. Though the amount of energy that is being consumed is likely to be negligible, it is a drain none the less.

Play it safe... Don't leave the unit's charger plugged into the outlet for a "... long period of time." unless you absolutely know that the outlet is not energized when the ignition is OFF.
