Newbie 740 Problem

I bought a TomTom 740 GO Live off ebay that was refurbish. I went ahead and also bought 1 year of service from TomTom site after I downloaded the driver on my computer. The issue is that whenever I am driving around I cannot seem to get a connection. I am not in Hooterville. I live in an area on the east coast of Florida.

I keep getting this message

WARNING
Internet Connection is not available. Please try again when you have network coverage. Error code: 111

I have not called TomTom yet. But I was wondering if anyone would have an insight. Maybe I need to flip a switch or something.

Have you set up an account at TomTom for your unit?

Call support at 866-486-6866 about activating the sim card in your unit.
 
Thanks that worked. There was nothing in the directions about calling TOMTOM to have them set up account. I was looking for something on the system itself.
