New XXL 540 wont start

got a new XXL 540 yesterday, have followed all the instructions and cant get past the screen with the tomtom logo on it -

Have tried resetting and uninstalling tomtom home to no avail

Any suggestions or do I just take it back to where I purchased it?

Followed what instructions? Did you hold the power button about 15 seconds till you heard the drum sounds?

instruction booklet that came with it.

and yep did the 15 second thing and got the drums but nothing else happens after that

I'd return it as being faulty. If it were older, there are various things that could be tried, but if it's brand new, you needn't go through the hassle.
