New XL map question

Hi there,
I've just bought my first ever sat nav, did my research and realised there is only one make to get and that of course is TomTom. I went for the XL Live with Eu maps. What I'm not sure about is whether the maps in it are up to date. I've done all the free downloads from home but how do I check? Don't really want to spend money on maps if I've already got them.

If its an XL IQ Live tap the screen to access the menu then select Change Properties/ Version Information, the latest maps are v850

You won't have to purchase a new map at this point though, if you don't have v850 maps installed yet connect the device to your computer and using the Home application tap "Tools" then select Use Latest Map Guarantee, this will download and install the V850 map to your device, if it doesn't contact TomTom support on 0845 161 0009 - Mike

Thanks for that. Map Eu West v850.2781 now installed. I do like the ease of connection for updates on this TomTom but I don't think they made that one very obvious.
