To start off I am new to TomTom but not GPS in-general. As part of my job I spend the majority of my time driving all over texas state and then some to get to/ from Customer Sites. For the past few years I have been using a $30 USB GPS receiver plugged into my Laptop using Microsoft Streets and Trips 2008 sitting on my passenger seat while driving and that worked good until I had to make a quick turn or stop. Needles to say I now have a TomTom 920.

Since I am a geek by trade and have read up a little (not a lot) on the TomTom 920 it looks like there is a lot of neat things I can do with this unit.

I do not yet have the Tom Tom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver but am hoping to get 1 in the not to distant future. Until then I am limited I guess.

I did however pick up a working copy of Media Center v3.x for my TomTom allowing me to watch divx video's ect.. on it which was pretty neat.

However I have a few questions!

1.) I just called TomTom Support and they say that the 920 does not support "Lane Guidance" only the TomTom 930 does. Is this correct? Is there no way I can have this feature on the 920? I swear I read in more than one place online that the 920 offered lane guidance.

2.) Is there anyway to get some of Google Maps Satellite Images into my TomTom 920?

3.) What other our "Out of the ordinary" things can be done with this device that wont BRICK the little booger?

4.) Are there any Speed Camera images/alerts for the US? mainly Texas?

5.) Since it appears my map version is 7.10.x and I read somewhere that the most recent version is v7.2x something. What do I need to do so get the most recent map version avail? I sure hope that I don't have to purchase the updated map since I just purchased this unit today. I have done just about ever update in TomTom Home except the other lang stuff for the voice stuff.

Many Thanks in advance,

MrChris
