New Speed Limit on a Route

Hi

Whilst out driving the other day I noticed that a section of dual carriageway road has been permanently modified and now has a speed restriction of 50mph.

As I am a new user and not familiar with the procedure to mark the start and finish points en route to make an alteration to my device. Is possible to apply this correction retrospectively either directly to my device or through the Home software on my PC?

You can follow the information in this thread.

It's somewhat of a pain to do and after you are done, TomTom will still NOT take the revised speed into consideration for its routing algorithm or IQ routing.

The only benefit you will derive is that if you have a warning for going faster than allowed, it'll consider the new imbedded value as the maximum speed.

You can also report your speed change as a mapshare change and hope it'll be reflected in a new map.

Hi

Thanks for the information. However, every time I tried to change the speed limit it finishes up saying that no changes were made.

The road is a piece of dual carriageway on the A66 in Cumbria that splits into two separate parts for the Eastbound and Westbound carriageways alongside Bassenthwaite Lake. The Westbound section only has been changed to a 50mph speed limit.

When I select this section the other carriageway also selects itself - I suspect that it thinks it is the same road and won't let me change one without the other.

Seeing as though I have just installed the latest map and this change happened over 18 months ago, it says little for the accuracy of the TomTom maps.
