Hi all. TT 720 newbie here. I traveled by plane with my TT and when I whipped it out and turned it on in the rental car, it had a hard time finding where I was. Only when I started fooling around with an itinerary did the unit ask if I wanted to set a new location. My question is, is there a quick way to get it to start acquiring satellites from a new location? I think I have a solution: change the home location to the airport you're starting out from. But that seems so inelegant. The other solutions in the help files seem inelegant, too: reset the device. I didn't have a paper clip! I discovered, later though, that my iPod control cable jack has an end small enough to hit the reset button. But the reset doesn't seem to help with acquiring satellites from a new location. The assumption by the unit seems to be that you're near "home."

Best advice I can offer is to have a clear view of the sky and most importantly - sit still for a couple minutes (usually less). Moving makes satellite lock more difficult.

Hope that helps a little.

Don't worry - it always takes some time when you travel - at least 15 minutes first time in Europe, but then it worked fine.

Having made a personal POI category and entered POIs for all locations I intended to visit, I plugged in the 930, switched it on selected Navigate to and entered the first address. By the time I got away from the terminal (05:00h, no traffic) the unit worked well.
