Good afternoon to All
After months of debate and confusion, I settled on a 720 from Walmart ... at quite a good price I might add!! Experienced nothing but grief and aggravation and was about this |__| far away from never purchasing another TomTom again!! I returned the device and began my quest again.
After countless hours, AGAIN, I selected the 630. On sale at a local Staples store. After some initial fidgeting and problematic setup, I am now quite happy. Except for the device dropping my phone (blackberry 8330 from Telus) every 8 days. I have come to expect this now and am able to restore my phone connections relatively quickly. It takes about 4 minutes now ... instead of almost 60. Here is how I do it:
1 Delete the phone from the TomTom
2 Turn off the power
3 Press the reset button on the bottom of the device
4 Turn it back on and wait for all of the start up procedures to complete
5 Re-connect the phone through the "manage phones" options
Its not great, but has worked so far.
Anyways ... still enjoying the device and hoping it will provide effective routing for all of my upcoming trips whether on my bike or in my car.
