Go 730
Just received my REPLACEMENT GO730. Did the "out of the box backup" by copying the contents of the connected device. I have TOMTOM HOME 2 and it appears to function slightly different. Since this is a replacement, I already have HOME on my pc. Plucked the device in and let it charge for about 2 hours. Then turned on device to start "first backup". First thing was that HOME started and wanted to load all the updates. I managed to back out of all that and copied the pc drive called TOMTOM to a created folder as recommended. So I have that I hope. Also copied all systems information to folder on my pc.

Device seems to operate as advertised.

Then connected device to HOME did all of the updates (maps, voices, home location, time, language, etc.) and used TOMTOM HOME 2 to do a back up again. I want to save this BU separately from any future BU's but can not find the file anywhere. IS this helpfull and WHERE is that file????

Future BU's I would do using the "Backup and Restore" function of HOME

Thx

PS: I am NOT a computer expert and since I have VISTA, even less so.

Doesn't hurt to have a virgin image of the device. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. :)

Also, be aware that a HOME backup doesn't work as well as a manual backup. We recommend making a backup per this link.
