New GO 730 owner

Future shop is having a sale in Canada.

I picked up the GO 730 on Friday when they went on sale, it was $279 the week before and is 140 bucks off at $139. I was going to get the XL340 but the GO 730 ended up being cheaper. I don't like the maps on the new XL 350s

Also glad I found this forum to help go with it

So far me and Homer took a trip to Shawinigan, about 300kms round trip and it worked very well. Though I do wish the speaker was a bit louder.

Volume

There is a setting to adjust the volume to ambient noise, try turning it off. I had the same problem with a Go720

I suggest you do a complete backup using Windows explorer. Check the FAQ to find out how to do this. Also, since the 850 maps were just released a few weeks ago, you should take advantage of your free LMG (Latest Map Guarantee) update.

Thanks, I did the explorer backup right out of the box and I updated the map when I saw it only came out a few weeks ago.

I'll have to check for the noise setting thanks for the tip
