New Firmware for One IQ Routes

I just connected my TomTom today and TomTom Home is telling me there is a new version. The changelog is rather strange though ( TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems - Support home - Select your product )

What does "This application version is the minimum requirement for the TomTom XL LIVE IQ Routes." mean?

Oh, the version I just installed is 8.414 ... just to let you guys and gals know!

IQ routing data is imbedded into specific maps but requires applications to be at a certain level to interpret and work with the IQ functionality.

XL IQ Live is a recently released device and as such the Navcore version it needs to work is 8,414 it is a different device to the XL IQ as it has a SIM card and GPRS modem fitted for the Live services - Mike

The XL340 (called XL IQroutes in the UK) was shipped with firmware 8.410. It was upgraded last month to 8.411 with unspecified "minor improvement". 8.414 was released a few days ago for it, with no published changelog yet. My suspicion is that it is a patch to read compression in the new USA/Canada/Mexico map that was release 2 days ago.

The XL IQroues LIVE (unavailable in US) was shipped with firmware 8.413. It appears that app 8.417 was released for the LIVE device at the same time as 8.414 for the non-LIVE version.
