New 130s

Hello. I just received a replacement today. I had a one s and they gave me a new 130s. They are a little different but not much. One feature i now have is that i have tomtom safety camera. What is this and how do i use it? I also have application verson 7.522 and Map verson of the US and Canada 715.1728 When i hook up my tomtom to home and it does the update thing what comes up is US and Canada verson 815.2035 and application verson 8.010 Should i install these and are they newer versons for the 130s? If yes should i uninstall the other versons before i install these. I just want to make sure so i don't screw things up. Thanks

Make a complete backup of your unit's contents using Explorer, not Home. Ensure hidden files & folders are showing.

Then, accept the f/w update and install. Then do the same with the map.

If all seems ok, make ANOTHER full Explorer backup (different folder on your pc).

I have a question now about the backup. I used the backup wizzard on xp. It backed up fine except for i think it created a file called userpatch.dat When i click on this it seems that it is a file showing my spybot search and destroy checking to see if everything is ok. Should i delete this file off the backup?

Use Explorer to view the contents of your unit. Do you see a file in the root of the unit with the same name? Or in the specific map folder? If in neither location, then it isn't part of TT's files (I don't have my unit here but the file name DOES sound familiar).

userpatch.dat is a file of your mapshare edits.

I've never used "backup wizard" in xp, it seems the best think is a straigt copy via explorer. You never know what file types or archive attributes backup wizard thinks is (incorrectly) ignorable.
