Need some help with My TomTom software please

I downloaded the software and managed to connect to my PC (Windows 8) with no problems.

However, I now find that every time I start my computer, I am conntected automatically to the My TomTom site.

Using settings, I disabled the "Start My TomTom when the computer starts".

The next time I started my computer, I went to the My TomTom site and was requested to download the software again.

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong please?

If you don't start it automatically (which is defeated with the check box you used), I guess you will need to manually start the app before connecting your device.
You'd need a shortcut to MyDriveConnect.exe which you would execute before connecting your unit.
