So i got the TomTom ONE XL and plugged it to my pc and it did not recognize it. I then reinstalled the Tom Tom Home software that came with the ONE XL and the machine still did not recognize or pull down updates. Weird.
So luckily I also have a Mac OSX Box. So I installed the TomTom Home software on the mac and the system found updates. It found the Tom Tom One XL application which is apparently different from the regular Tom Tom One. So it downloaded the software and installed it on the card. So then I plugged it back in the PC ( Its runnng XP with SP 2 ) Gateway E-4100 and then it was recogniseable now that the new Tom Tom Application is installed on the card.
I was trying to install it to my 2 GIG SD card that I had from my Tom Tom One. I don't know if this was covered before in another thread. If it was I am sorry. But I just wanted to let you guys know since people are starting to get the ONE XL and or upgrading to it and need to get their data over. So basically the software on the included CDROM in the TomTom ONE XL package did not work with the ONE XL (At least for Me.) Also it was a CD and not a DVD, there were no maps on the disc either.. Just 240 megs of the application stuff because it's a hybrid disc that works on both Mac and PC
