TomTom Model(s)
One
Hi all,
New to forum. Upgraded my maps for the first time since I've had
my One. Now all I get is the splash screen. Anyone know how to
reload the original software. Naturally I don't have a back-up.

Did you upgrade both your maps and your firmware at the same time?

Which model ONE do you have? It's worth trying a reset just to see what happens. Some of the older models have a little hole in the bottom where you can insert a paper clip to perform the reset (should be marked "Reset" on the sticker), and others require that you hold down the power button for 15 seconds or so from a power off state until the reset is performed.

130 I think

I think it is 130, not real sure. All I did was click on update
in TThome.

I think we can safely assume that you didn't perform a map update then - you'd have remembered paying for that privilege. If this turns out to just be a firmware issue, we can delete the current firmware and have you load it again - but ...

Do the reset. Let us know what happens. While you're there, give us the first two letters of the serial number on the bottom of your unit. That will give us certainty about your model.

Thanx,
Tried the reset, now the screen comes up, but says no valid gps
signal. First two digits are PB. I didn't buy anything, just did the
update because screen said I needed to.

Yes, your model shows up as:
ONE (30 Series) / 125 / 130 - 1GB
Make sure your unit is in an open area to get the gps signal. It may take a couple of minutes........

Upgrade went wrong

I am sorry if this post is in the wrong place but I am new here and cannot see where to submit a new enquiry.
My device is a Tomtom One V1with C_No beginning G12.
I have a 2gb card in it and the Western Europe map. I paid for a map upgrade and subscription to quarterly upgrades. The new map downloaded to my computer and began copying to the device card but 80% through, the computer hung and had to be restarted. Following forum advice, I unzipped the activation file and the new Western-Europe file on to my device card but I am getting a message saying the map is out of date and needs updating through TT Home, but when I go into Home I am told my device is up to date and no upgrade is available. Can anyone please advise me?
Thank you.

Where is the message coming from? The unit or when you connect it to Home and is it talking about the map or mapshares?

Anyway, on the unit tap the satellite bars. The next screen shows the application installed. Now, tap the version number and the following screen shows the map installed and its version number. The newest should show 865.
