When I go to Home, Plan a route, Find a location, or Show traffic, it keeps getting me to a map of London, UK even though I live in Washington D.C. USA.

I registered and have an account with TomTom that indicated that I live in the US. How can I can change my setting in Home to indicate that I don't live in London, UK? Thanks

See if this helps.

Tools > Home Preferences > select USA for the country there

If you already have USA listed there, then I'd be curious to know what model TT you have.

Yes, my home country listed in Home is USA. My TT model is XXL540M

I suspect you might have a 540 WTE (World Traveller Edition) which contains maps of both NA and Western_Europe.

Go to Manage Maps-->Switch maps. Do you see both listed? If so, select North_America.

It will default to New York city, 42nd street till a satellite fix is established.

When you log into TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems manually on your PC and enter your username and password (it may remember you from before), about 2/3 of the way down, there should be a round flag and a line that says "Please select your country or region". Do you see a U.S. flag there? If so, that's about as strange as I've heard.

If you're game, make sure you have hidden files and folders visible, and take a look at a file here:

c:\Documents and Settings\[you]\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\[randomfoldername].default\prefs.js. You can read it with a word processor of any sort.

A few lines from the bottom, do you see a line that reads like this..

user_pref("tomtom.server.country", "US");

???

You're correct about the "flag" in my profile. After I switched to US "flag", it registered as US location and now I'm in the US instead of UK:)

Thanks

I thought I was lucky because I bought an M version and got an WTE version, but I was not. It only has US, Canada, and Mexico maps in it.

Thank you for your help.
