Mute button inactive

The sound on/off button has suddenly become inoperative. It lives its own life, and if the sound is on, I can't turn it off and vice versa.

The May 21 update is a real disappointment.

May 21 is an update of the map, it is not an update of the application.

Exactly that button is irresponsive.

I'm used to switching the sound on and off during driving, and I don't want to mute whatever audio my phone is playing.

I have only recently noticed the sound living its own life, as well as recent destinations missing altogether, since I manually cleasred a lot of them.

Have you tried deleting the app then reinstalling it.

Yes. I deleted and reinstalled the app, which resulted in more changes, but the sound issue persisted.
