Will the 920 be able to utilize an SDHC card. I am looking for a regular 8GB sd card, and all I can find in an 8GB is a SDHC High Capacity card, which will not work for a lot of readers. Tom Tom's website says the unit will work with SD, and MMC memory, but does not say if the Tom Tom unit will read an SDHC card. Has anyone tried an SDHC card in their TomTom unit, and been able to successfully retreive the data?
Thanks.

Memory Question Answered *BEWARE*

I Just got off the Phone with Tom Tom Support (Matt), and asked him about the SDHC card, and Tom Tom's ability to utilized the High Capacity cards, and he told me that Tom Tom will NOT work with anything other that standard SD formatted cards. I have looked High and Low and everything I am finding in an 8GB is SDHC. I hope this information will save you from having to go through the hassle of returning unusable product. Please let me know if you are aware of a source for a standard SD 8GB.

Large Card Response

Hello 46Jimbo,

Mainly for convenience purposes. I have more that 4GB of MP's, and easier just to have them all on there than to transfer them on and off the card via TT Home. Even 4GB on a standard SD card is becoming more difficult to find.

Take care.

Windows doesn't recognize 4GB SDHC card on TT One

I bought a SanDisk 4GB SDHC card and inserted it into my TomTom One. Windows XP did not recognize the card as a device and just told me to insert a card. My guess is that it needs to be formatted in a differenct (non-standard) way. Anyone have success to report? Thx.

It is nothing to do with XP. The card reader in the TT cannot read SDHC cards. It is nothing to do with the formatting. SDHC and SD are different standards, they are not inter-operable.
